Who we are

This Privacy Notice describes how Clayton Jones ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use the Quiz Master mobile and web application (the "Service"). For the purposes of data protection law, Clayton Jones is the data controller of your personal data.

Data we collect

  • Account and contact data: name, email address, profile photo, and authentication details from Google sign-in.
  • Quiz data: topics you select, quiz attempts, answers, scores, group memberships, and weekly report information.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and how you interact with the Service.
  • Support data: messages you send us and any attachments.

How we use your data

We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • To provide and operate the Service and your account (contract performance).
  • To generate your daily quizzes, weekly reports, and group leaderboards (contract performance).
  • To process payments, subscriptions, trials, and tax compliance through our reseller (contract performance and legal obligation).
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
  • To improve features, fix issues, and analyze usage trends (legitimate interests, where not overridden by your rights).
  • To send service-related messages such as subscription renewal or trial expiration (contract performance and legitimate interests).
  • With your consent, to send marketing communications about new features or topics (you may withdraw consent at any time).

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers: hosting, authentication, analytics, error reporting, customer support, and email delivery partners who process data on our behalf.
  • Paddle.com: our Merchant of Record and online reseller. Paddle processes payment, billing, subscription, tax, and invoice data when you subscribe or start a trial. You can read Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
  • Professional advisers: lawyers, accountants, and insurers when necessary.
  • Authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and users.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, comply with legal obligations, and maintain backups. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. EEA and UK users also have the right to complain to their supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
